Dimitar, describe your business in 20 words:

VITRANO GLASS is a staind glass company. The main activity is design and construction of stained glass products. The team of VITRANO GLASS is autorised to perform restautration of stained glass products and to give advice on interior design.

 

How did you get the idea?

The idea is 10 years old, when I discovered my gift and passion for making stained glass products during the stay in Venece , Italy .

How did you start?

8 years I was designing stained glass products for other Macedonian companies. When my business plan was awarded with the 1 st price in 2005, I deceided to start up my own business for design and construction of stained glass products.

What was the biggest barrier in your business up until now?
On the beginning I was facing with financial problems. With the time my reputation was going in a positiv direction and the sales were going well, so I managed to overcome this barrier. But still, there are not enough financial assets in order to invest in marketing and promotion of my stained glass products.

 

Do you think there are enough role models of young people who have set up businesses in Macedonia ?

During the competition organised in 2005 for best business plan I saw lots of young people with briliant ideas for starting their own business. But as fare as I am concerned I think that there are few but not enough role models of young people who have set up business in Macedonia . Generaly I found my role models abroad.

Who is the one person who has been most influential in your success?
My wife was and still is my bigest support. She forced me to start my own business. She is responcible for all the financial aspects of the business and hade a great role in preparation of the business plan. But offcourse, all of my clients are also my support, and have a great influence on me to continue with the same passion and enthusiasm.

What would your advice be to someone thinking about setting up their own business?

There should be no fear in realising the ideas. With detailed plan for implementation, where all of the positive and negative asspects are obsereved, the space for failure is small. We all have to do our work with passion and to think forward. The barriers should be overcomed with creating smart solutions and strategies. There is no business without barriers. Enterpreneurial spirit creates businesss that last and generate profit. The right information in proper time, with idea how to be useed, worts money. So, be informed as much as it is possible, stay in touch with the public.
